Watch Dogs Wont Start Without 6GB Ram+ On PC

Watch dogs debut starts next week and there are already a couple of leaks that have appeared online for the PS4 version.

Director Jonathan Morin confirmed that on the PC version, Watch Dogs wont even start with less than 6GB RAM and is going to be dependant on CPU rather than GPU during gameplay.

After he explained that his team focused more on dynamic game than pretty visuals, Jonathan Morin started talking about the performance on PC on Twitter.

When he was asked by a 4GB RAM user, he replied that the game should start and will be able to perform on low settings only if he had at least 6GB of RAM.

Morin also said that Watch Dogs isn’t that dependant on graphics cards, an Nvidia GTX 670 should be able to play it without any problems on Ultra settings. But, it will need a beefy processor so that it doesn’t encounter bottlenecking which will take the entire performance down.

As we come closer to the release on Watch Dogs, expect to hear more details for the performance on PC.

Don’t Starve: Reign of Giants DLC Officially Released

Don’t Starve has officially launched their DLC expansion, Reign of Giants.

Don’t Starve is one of the more difficult take of the wilderness survival genre, where players have a single major goal in the game – don’t starve and don’t get killed against the creatures of the island.

The core gameplay offers a similar experience to DayZ, Rust and other survival games but with a completely different presentation and tone.

Their first DLC pack adds a lot of new items, characters, different kinds of festive foliage and new creatures. Reign of Giants DLC has been available on Steam Early Access since April, but is now officially released.

Don’t Starve is on a 66% discount from its original price, which comes to $5 and Reign of Giants DLC is also on a discount of 10%, total of $4.5 just for today.

PlayStation 4 version of the Reign of Giants DLC pack will be released later since Klei Entertainment is currently working on bringing it there.

Valve Is The Saviour of PC Gaming, Wasteland Creator Believes

Head of InXile Entertainment, Brian Fargo talked about the success of Wasteland 2 on the Steam Early Access program and dubbed that Valve is the saviour of PC gaming because of the pattern shift introduced by Steam many years ago.

Wasteland 2 is the sequel to the 1988’s Wasteland, which is the first ever post-apocalyptic role-playing game and the inspiration behind the Fallout Series. Creator of the Wasteland series, Brain Fargo has already received funding from their successful Kickstarter campaign and has now reached the alpha stage for Wasteland 2 on PC via Steam Early Access program.

Brian Fargo had a chat with Eurogamer and according to him, the amount of work Valve developers has done for the PC gaming community is phenomenal, even in the early days when game distribution to people was hard unless they worked with various companies and publishers.

Fargo said “They’re the saviours of the PC as far as I’m concerned,”

valve“They’ve been great. You think about where we all were, kind of in the dark ages, when there was nothing. There was just flash. There was no digital distribution. They’ve opened up a way to get directly to the audience in a way that isn’t politicized, or forces us to do exclusives or all other things the console guys do.”

Fargo revealed that not long ago, getting a game on console meant going through a lot of hoops and meeting a few bizarre requirements, like on the Xbox 360.

“It used to be with Xbox, just until very recently, you couldn’t have an Xbox Live Arcade publishing license unless you had a retail product. What did that have to do with anything? Valve has all this power but they don’t wield it. They let us all work in an open system. So for that I can’t say enough good things about them.”

Fargo also talked a bit about the Steam Early Access program, stating that, for some developers, it’s crucial that they achieve some degree of success in order to have enough funds to finish developing.

“That puts it into a different category and that gets very scary. If you buy Wasteland 2 Early Access you’re going to get the game. We’re going to finish it. That might not always be the case with everyone. So I expect that, again like Kickstarter, that people are going to further refine and scrutinize what it is they’re willing to spend money on early on.”
